Pure cold-pressed argan oil: how to read the label

Pure, organic, cold-pressed: what those claims really mean — and how to check a bottle before you buy in Morocco.

On this page
Searches for pure argan oil, organic argan oil or cold-pressed usually want a “clean” bottle without opaque blends. Here is an honest checklist: what the label can guarantee, what it cannot, and how to choose at Biomedica without greenwashing.
For botanical definition and uses, start with what is argan oil. How-to: how to use argan oil.
What does “cold-pressed” mean?
In plant cosmetics, cold-pressed usually means mechanical pressing at moderate temperature, without aggressive high-heat extraction. It is not a miracle skin or hair claim: it describes a process.
Always check the mention on your batch (label, leaflet, product page). If the bottle says nothing, do not assume the process from marketing alone.
Pure / 100%: unblended?
“Pure” or “100%” often means argan oil without other plant oils added. Read the composition / INCI: one oil ingredient vs a list of several oils or fragrances changes the product.
Duos (argan + prickly pear, argan + rose) are associated formulas, useful for some rituals, but not single-ingredient argan. Compare: argan and prickly pear, argan and rose.
Organic: only with a label
The word organic is not decoration. At Biomedica we only put “organic” in a product title if a certification is actually shown for that lot. Without a visible certificate, read “natural” or “plant” as on the page — not invented “organic”.
Beware of long titles stacking pure + organic + miracle + hair growth: often empty SEO, not information.
Colour, smell, texture: sensory clues
Untoasted cosmetic oil is often lighter and more neutral than toasted culinary oil. A rancid, harsh or unpleasant smell after long opening signals oxidation: stop cosmetic use. Storage detail: expiry and comedogenic.
A sticky feel or greasy “makeup” look often comes from over-dosing, not necessarily a bad bottle. Fewer drops, better spread.
Cosmetic vs culinary on the label
A cosmetic bottle is not a condiment. A culinary jar is not a face serum. Comparison: cosmetic vs culinary. Kitchen: 250 ml culinary.
Biomedica cold-pressed sizes
To try: cold-pressed argan oil 40 ml. Daily: natural argan 60 ml. Frequent use: 100 ml. Catalogue: argan oil category.
Morocco prices and volumes: argan oil price Morocco. Origin context: argan oil Morocco.
Skin and hair: what “pure” does not change
Even pure cold-pressed oil remains a cosmetic. It can help comfort dry skin and finish hair; it does not replace medical treatment. Face: argan oil for face. Hair: argan oil for hair. Realistic benefits: benefits.
